According to the\n    WHO, PPH is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. Each year about 14 million women worldwide suffer from\n    PPH. Severe bleeding after birth can be fatal for the new mother within hours if she is not diagnosed and treated.\n    To improve PPH outcomes, it is vital that obstetric and healthcare professional teams have training in providing\n    prompt treatment and care of postpartum hemorrhage.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cul\u003e\n    \u003cstrong\u003e The PPH simulator focuses on the following three causes of postpartum hemorrhage:\u003c\/strong\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Uterine atony (tone)\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Tears and ruptures (trauma)\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Retinated placental tissue (tissue) \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e The P97 Pro PPH module was developed in collaboration with Dr. Martin Neuss, M.D., from Bethesda hospital in Hamburg\n    to provide training in the following skills, both for individuals and teams:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cul\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Diagnosis of uterine atony by abdominal examination. By adjusting your scenario settings, the P97 PRO module\n        can simulate various levels of uterine tone. Both an atonic uterus and a contracted uterus can be simulated and\n        adjusted using a squeeze bulb. With the P97 PRO module an atonic uterus feels soft, boggy and enlarged, while a\n        contracted uterus feels harder and can tighten to a smaller size.\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Practice in both fundal massage and bimanual uterine compression.\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Suturing of vaginal tears. The rupture inserts are replaceable.\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e 360-degree cervical visual inspection. The cervix has a realistic post-childbirth size and softness.\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Manual removal of a retained placenta. Three residual pieces can be placed in the uterus to provide training in\n        the required medical procedure, like uterine curettage.\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Intrauterine balloon tamponade. The uterus cavity is big enough to accommodate the placement of a Bakri\n        balloon.\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Uterine packing with gauze.\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Presentation of severe obstetric hemorrhage cases. The blood reservoir can take a volume of up to 3L. The flow\n        rate is adjustable and up to 400 ml\/min.\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Blood loss estimate. The volume scale on the blood reservoir can help trainees improve their skills in\n        estimating blood loss.\u003c\/li\u003e\n    \u003cli\u003e Bladder catheterization. A urinary catheter can be inserted.
