Porpoise skull inside view

Like all Somso models, this full sized, half (medial cut) of a harbor porpoise (Phocoena phocoena) skull is exquisitely detailed. The mandible and tympanic bone is easily removable. It provides a unique inside look at the brain case and mandibular foramen. Wonderful for use in educational outreach explaining how echolocation works in cetaceans. It is also an excellent way to show comparative anatomy.
