S.I.M.O.N.T - Portable Otorhino Surgical Trainer

The SIMONT (Sinus Model Otorhino Neuro Trainer) is a high-fidelity simulator for endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery training. Developed by Pro Delphus, it replicates detailed sinus anatomy, including turbinates, nasal septum, vessels, and the sella turcica with adenoma. It allows surgeons to practice procedures such as turbinectomies, maxillary ostium enlargement, sphenoid ostium expansion, sella turcica opening, and pituitary adenoma removal. With realistic pathology inserts like cysts, tumors, and inflammatory tissues, SIMONT provides an immersive experience for mastering both basic and advanced endoscopic surgical techniques.

The SIMONT (SOT) simulator allows for endoscopic sinus surgery, ranging from a simple SOT ostium opening to accessing the skull base.

The SIMONT simulator (Sinus Model Otorhino Neuro Trainer) was developed by Pro Delphus with detailed facial sinus anatomy, including turbinates, nasal septum, vessels, and the sella turcica with adenoma, among other structures. To enhance realism, specific pathologies such as cysts, tumors, and inflammatory tissue are incorporated, enabling therapeutic procedures from simple flaps to sella turcica opening and pituitary adenoma removal.

    Surgeries that can be performed on SIMONT:
  • Turbinectomies and removal of the uncinate process
  • Enlargement of the maxillary ostium
  • Drainage of maxillary cysts
  • Removal of the ethmoidal bulla
  • Periorbital approach through the lamina papyracea
  • Removal of agger nasi and frontal sinus opening
  • Abscess drainage
  • Identification and dissection of the artery and the sphenopalatine orifice
  • Training in multiple septal flap techniques
  • Identification and expansion of the sphenoid ostium to allow entry into the sphenoid
  • Removal of the intersphenoidal septum
  • Opening of the sella turcica
  • Removal of pituitary adenoma and craniopharyngioma
